The secret to a gorgeous, long lasting sunless tan lies in the preparation. It is important that the skin is as fresh and primed as possible, so thorough exfoliation is recommended. Exfoliating helps to promote an even coverage and lengthens the duration of the tan.
24hrs before your tan you should exfoliate thoroughly and then moisturise all over especially any dry areas such as knees, elbows, hands and feet. You should also shave or wax.
If you haven't had time to do this the night before you can still exfoliate on the day of your tan but don't moisturise so that the tan can sink into your skin better.
It is recommended that you remove contact lenses during your spray tan session. Try not to wear make-up, moisturiser, perfume and deodorant on day of your tan, if you do please remove before session
DON'T use a Spray Tan if you are pregnant 1 – 3 months or breast feeding (as a precaution).
We also recommend that you wear dark loose fitting clothing. Spray Tan solution washes out of most clothing very easily but tends to stain nylon and lycra materials, therefore dark colored underwear is recommended. Be careful after your tanning session of wearing long boots as these can make your tan patchy on your legs.
It is advisable to wear a robe after, until you are completely dry.
Wait at least 8 hours before you shower after you have been spray tanned. This will allow time for the self-tanning reaction to occur in the skin. For best results, leave overnight.
Do not moisturise until after your first shower. This could affect the immediate reaction of the sunless solution on the skin and cause streaking.
Do not swim until after your frst shower. Immediate contact with water, chlorine and salt water could affect the reaction of the sunless solution. Also, keep in mind that chlorine and salt water may dry your skin and cause your sunless tan to fade faster.
Wait at least 8 hours before you exercise.
Don't exfoliate for at least 48 hours after your spray tan. When you do exfoliate, remember to do so gently.
Avoid long hot baths and showers as these speeds up exfoliation.
Don't worry if you see colour washing off from your first shower – this is normal. What you see washing off is the guide colour.
Moisturise your skin after you shower to maintain colour. Try to moisturise at least twice a day
Pat your skin dry after a bath or shower. Rubbing your skin may rub off your tan.
Remember to wear extra protection in the sun. The Solution does not provide any sunscreen.
